A dancer’s apparel is an important part of the class as proper dress ensures safety,
ease of movement and focus. Dancers are expected, after the first week of classes,
to prepare for each class with the following basic expectations in mind. Dancers who
do not adhere to these classroom apparel rules will not be allowed to participate in
the class.
- Dancers for ALL classes must have hair pulled back and away from face in a pony
tail or bun. Headbands are not sufficient as they can fall off when turning.
- Street wear is under NO CIRCUMSTANCES allowed in class. Dancers wearing t-shirts,
sweatshirts, jeans, etc. will be asked to remove this clothing and produce the proper
dance attire before participating in class.
- All Ballet and Tap-Ballet (jazz, acro) combo classes will require a black leotard of
any style, pink ballet tights and pink ballet shoes. For hour ballet classes, it is
preferred that hair be up in a bun.
- Proper shoes are required to dance. On the first session of class, the instructor
will announce her preference for style/color of shoes. The EXACT shoes will not be
required until performance. So, if a dancer is still able to wear shoes from a
previous dance class, this will be acceptable as long as the shoes fit the need of
the class (A dancer can not wear jazz shoes for tap class).
- Hour tap classes will be using the tan stretch tap boots from Revolution Dancewear.
- Hour jazz classes will be using the black stretch jazz boots from Revolution Dancewear.
- Ballet classes will be using the pink stretch ballet slippers from Revolution Dancewear.
- Jewelry is not allowed on the dance floor. Exceptions are new earring studs that must be
worn for a new piercing, sports watches, and rubber bracelets (etc: Live Strong bracelets)
