Clinic: August 11th @ 8am-1pm (please show up to register at 7:30am)
Audition: August 12th- 2pm- ?? (please show up at 1:30 to stretch)
**THERE IS NO FEE FOR AUDITIONING**
- Attend the clinic on Saturday, August 11th to learn the audition material. Attire is dancewear and hair must be up completely. Proper shoes are required. Dancers will be divided in to Small Company, Jr. Company or Sr. Company (Sr. Company is the most advanced division). This will determine the level of difficulty in audition material.
- Each group will learn a short center floor combination which will be the basis for judging. In addition, dancers will also be given center floor techniques and traveling combinations. Dancers should practice all relevant skills that have been learned up to this point in preparation for the tryout clinic.
- It is STRONGLY recommended that dancers practice in groups Saturday night. There will be very little review of the material on Sunday.
- Sunday, August 12th, show up at 1:30pm sharp for the audition! The doors will be locked at 2:15pm so please show up on time! Late arrivals may not be able to audition as tryouts will already be underway. Attire for both groups is black jazz pants and any leotard. NO T-SHIRTS!! Proper shoes are required and again, hair must be up completely. Dancers may not be able to try out if they do not have the proper attire.
- Auditions are CLOSED to the public. Dancers who are waiting for their turn must stay in the common room until they are called to the studio. Anyone who is not auditioning must leave the building. There are NO exceptions. Parents can not wait in common room or boutique while auditions are in progress. **Please make sure dancers eat before audition or bring food with them as they will not be able to leave until the auditions are completed and the doors will be locked until then.
- Be prepared for the audition to begin ASAP. Begin stretching as soon as you enter the building and listen for instructions.
- Dancers will not be expected to perform any of the choreography individually. However, dancers may be asked to perform techniques such as leaps or turns individually.
- Once the auditions have started, the process should last about 2 hours.
- Please note that ALL AUDITIONING DANCERS are required to learn and audition the ballet combination. This does not mean that you are trying out for Ballet Company. We just want to get an idea of how your ballet technique has progressed this past year.
- We will be posting the results of our auditions on our website on Sunday evening! This audition will be the only audition before classes begin. There will not be a mid-year audition as this is a Nationals year, but individual auditions can be held in case of a scheduling conflict with the main audition.
- Remember to come ready to have fun! Don't worry about the outcome. Just DANCE!
Thank you for your interest in ATRM Company and we look forward to seeing you at auditions! Best of Luck!
Much Love,
ATRM Faculty
