Company placement is by audition ONLY and is based upon age, attitude, and skill level. Dancers younger than 6 years of age are not eligible for Company. During clinic, dancers will be measured on their ability to focus in class and work hard to learn the material. It is just as important for Company members to be good students as it is for them to be skilled dancers. Finally, skill level is the largest deciding factor in the selection of Company members. Please rehearse all techniques that you have learned over your years of dancing in order to prepare. Dancers will be challenged in tryouts, as they will be challenged throughout the year.

Company members will be required to take their Company class (jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop) and 2 additional ballet classes. ALL COMPANY MEMBERS MUST BE TAKING BALLET FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR, NO EXCEPTIONS. In addition, leaps & turns class and strengthening class is STRONGLY recommended but not required.

The financial obligation of Company members is a big one, but we do all we can here at ATRM to alleviate the stress off finances on our dancers. I will have, in addition to others, a fundraising committee. We already have many fundraising opportunities in the works which will be available to the dancers to raise the money that they need for dance costumes, convention fees, etc. However, these fundraisers will only benefit the dancers who use them. The money will not be divided among the whole group unless the whole group participates. This will be a very important focus of our team.

Company members will be performing in numerous community events along with other ATRM dancers, as well as attending 1 regional dance convention and competing in 2 or 3 regional competitions throughout the year. The results of these regional competitions will decide when and where the 2007-2008 ATRM Company attends Nationals. To prepare for these regional performances, members will be expected to attend rehearsals outside of class on the 1st and 3rd weekend of the month preceding the competition. Company is an exciting opportunity for all dancers who are interested in taking their skills to the next level!
