Hanna was born in Lawrence, Kansas and moved to Shawnee, Kansas at the age of 2. She began her dance career at Dixie Bell Dance Center at the age of 3. She took tap and ballet combo classes until she was 7yrs old and then moved on to hour tap classes. After further training she joined the KC Tap and Jazz Troupe and competed locally with high scores. She also excelled in acrobats as she competed locally in N.A.C. meets. At this time, early in her training, she decided to focus all of her attention on her first love, ballet.
Meanwhile, at the age of 11, Hanna became an apprentice at Dixie Bell Dance Center. She began assisting with the tap/ballet combo and ballet classes. After 5 years of being an apprentice, she began teaching. She started out teaching the young children's tap/ballet combo classes, and later began teaching ballet. Today, she is in charge of the Ballet Company at ATRM.
Hanna has a deep love for children, and enjoys every moment of being a dance instructor. She conducts all of her classes in a fun, yet controlled atmosphere to get the most out of every class period. She is known for her gentle nature with children and her creative choreography. Hanna is a favorite among the students, and was nominated in 2005 for the Kindest Kansas Citian Award sponsored by Channel 9 news.
Hanna still resides in Shawnee with her 4 sisters, 2 brothers, parents and pet dove. We are happy to have her at ATRM in 2006-2007!
