Heather Noelle Whitaker was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to the Kansas City area with her family when she was 5. She began her dancing career at Valley View School of Dance in Overland Park, KS. She excelled in tap, jazz and voice. She was a member of the Showstopper Performing group with Valley View for several years. She loved performing, but it was here that she decided she wanted to pursue a career as an instructor.

As a high school freshman, Heather joined the Dixie Bell Dance Center in Shawnee, KS and competed in tap and jazz for the KC Tap and Jazz Troupe. She finished her high school career at DBDC, where she began the apprentice program and started teaching on her own. She quickly realized her calling of teaching children as this was where she felt the most confident and content. She began taking entrepreneurship courses at this time and planning her future in dance studio ownership.

Heather attended the University of Kansas where she studied business, dance (ballet, jazz and modern), and psychology. She graduated in 2000 with a BGS in Psychology and continued her teaching career with DBDC.

Heather has now taught in the KC area for 13 years, working with cheerleading groups, dance squads, and choral groups. She is well-known in the community for her lighthearted but challenging style of teaching. She has been nominated 12 different times by her students for the Kindest Kansas Citian Award sponsored by Channel 9 news. Her choreography has won recognition in dance competitions, talent competitions and musical auditions.

Heather is now focusing her energies on bringing her passion for dancing and her love of working with kids together as she continues to build All The Right Moves Dance Company in 2007-2008!
